Hi *,
After a brief email conversation, Neta Gill (ScreenWest Communications
Manager) gave me a call and invited me to a one-on-one interview on
Friday, 17 December (as part of their industry consultation process).
As I will be representing Let's Make Games (and the local development
community), I would like to know what issues you would like raised and
discussed. I recall some discontent with ScreenWest in prior postings,
so please be conscientious in keeping all suggestions pragmatic.
My top priorities are:
1. Letting them know about the local game developer community
1.1. History
1.2. Demographics
1.3. Developers
1.4. Games
2. Informing them of Let's Make Games' plans
2.1. History
2.2. Quarterly events
2.3. Online resources
2.4. Other plans (TBD/TBA)
3. Understanding ScreenWest's role in interactive media
3.1. Are we considered part of the screen industry?
3.2. What are the areas of overlap? (eg. skills and technical)
3.3. Any plans to integrate games into industry and content directories?
4. My opinion on strategic direction for next 5 years
4.1. Increasing convergence in skills and technical requirements
4.2. Increasing social and cultural relevance of interactive media
4.3. Request clear decision and action on role relative to games
ScreenWest will be sending me some more information soon, and I will
follow up with some more discussion points over the next week or so.
Regards,
- Nick
