I don't know if I'd call it a controversial article!
A good creative project manager is going to help direct a development team to better direction than a bad uncreative project manager, within the medium-to-large sized teams you see in corporate development like they're talking about.
If you take the tacit corollary from the article's main point - bad project managers are bad for business - then the claim doesn't sound nearly so radical. =)
