[PIGMI] Activision Blizzard lobbying for new R&D tax changes

I tend to agree with Chris, there is nothing inherently special about Perth
as a place to make games. It's neither better now worse than any other
modern mid-sized city.

However it's also the place where I live, and I like it here, and don't'
really want to move. Just because we don't have an industry already doesn't
mean we can't have one, it's just a matter of persistance. Also, I think
there is a lot of untapped potential. We have enough creative, succesful
people in other entertainment industries (e.g. music, writing), so why not
games?

As the asker of the question, what do you think Simon?

I think being brutally honest but remaining positive; about the only
thing going for it is that there is a largely aligned community here
pushing to make it so. Otherwise we're on the backfoot in just about
every other conceivable way. I'd enjoy being wrong though.
