As a place to make games maybe not, but it is in The Economit's top ten most
livable cities, for whatever that is worth:

Actually, even as a place to make games, I think that the indie dev community
we have bootstrapped here was one of the reasons that Interzone were persuaded
to come here.
On that note, looking at developers like yourself and other people who have or
are in the process of putting out successful games in recent times, I think
we're already doing a pretty awesome job of creating our own industry based on
grass-roots growth rather than government and foreign cash injections. To my
mind there is no reason that an industry based upon foreign investment would be
better than what we are already accomplishing ourselves.
Given this community and enthusiasm and the high standard of easy living, Perth
is probably one of the best places to be an indie developer.
Cheers,
Chris.
