Hi,


It occurred to me this is something you two may be interested in, or know
people who are.


We are in the process of developing a submission to the Regional Development
Australia Fund to raise $12.33 million to develop a Digital Media Hub, which
will form part of Midland Atelier - Western Australia's first design and
creative industries centre based at the historic Railway Workshops site.


To give you the short version, the Hub will nurture innovation, learning,
entrepreneurship and creative expression for digital media practitioners
including animation, graphic design, web-development, music, film, gaming
and 3D development.  And it will also encourage cross-overs with other
industries and creative disciplines for greater innovation. (more info

We have been circulating a template for practitioners and the digital media
community to indicate support through a simple ‘statement of need’.  Given
the short time frame for this grant application, it is the simplest way to
showcase the broader digital media and creative new media community that
needs support. I’ve attached a short 3 page brief on the project and a
template to indicate support.


If you know of anyone working in the field or interested in the Hub, please
feel pass this along through your networks.


We’d greatly appreciate it, and we are eager to demonstrate that there is an
important digital media community in WA to be recognised.  The template can
be returned to us by Thursday and we’ll compile it all into one list for the
submission.
