[PIGMI] Hiring students

I'll be interested to hear about your experiences with that. Most of
the places I've worked for have always insisted it put more strain on
the team than one was likely to gain. A claim I have always found a
little sad considering the lack of training and mentorship most
companies in the industry provide. I've never had to mentor or
supervise interns so apart from likely being very bad at it; I also
have no insight into whether the claims of my previous employers about
interns are true.  Opinions?
