[PIGMI] Funding my way

Andy, I would recommend you look at Pozible (Australian-based), IndieGoGo or RocketHub for crowdfunding.

Unfortunately Kickstarter still processes their projects through the Amazon Payments system, which requires you to have a US bank account and billing address to receive money.

If you do decide to go the route of crowdfunding, make sure to look into the platform's terms thoroughly before continuing. Pozible uses an All-or-Nothing system like Kickstarter, where you have to reach your funding goal 100% to unlock the funds. RocketHub and IndieGoGo use a Keep It All process, where you get to keep all funds raised by your pitch, regardless of whether you hit your goal or not. Both methods are useful for different types of projects.

There's also different communities involved in the different sites. It's absolutely worthwhile to find the site that has the right process and right community to match your project.

Yancey Strickler, founder of Kickstarter, said in a recent interview on Purple Pawn that they are hoping to open up Kickstarter to international projects, but no mention of dates, countries or platforms. It was more of a "Yeah, we're working on it" statement.
