Probably see you over there again, Mike. heh
For anyone still considering GDC; I was talking with a bunch of Melbourne
devs last night and had some thoughts for consideration - the developer of
Antichamber (http://www.antichamber-game.com/) was saying he'd bought the
all access pass the past few years and only really attended a few things
with it, but recommended if you're going to network you could just get the
indie summit pass for ~$350.
Pair that with Qantas flights on sale ~$1200 return Melbourne to LA and
Delta LA<->SF ~$150, and a flight Perth<->Melbs/Sydney ~$200-250 if you
catch a Jetstar sale.
Makes it more affordable. Plus hostels are mostly $30/night.
Ofcourse, if you want to be exposed to more cutting edge talks about all
sorts of tech (AAA, big studies etc, not just indie) then an all access
pass would be a better suit. +$1k.
